I was at club saw last night, to watch Trevor Dunn. After an excellent opening band, Parade, I and my friends witnessed your Adam Saikaley. It was unmitigated bullshit. And when I say bullshit I mean the music, the concept, and the performance. Let's be clear about this.
We heard Radiohead material mangled and raped beyond any reason, via a moog, laptop and clarinet, and one of the worst live voices I have heard. Seriously, what did Radiohead ever do to you? People were walking out, looking around in confusion, and laughing openly. And these were not mean people, it's just that this pretentious, cack-handed, badly played, ill-conceived bullshit deserved no more than desertion or derision.
My overriding impression, (apart from the fact that Adam deserves some kind of 'brass balls' award for actually having the front to soil a lineup of otherwise heavy musicians who played up a storm and *gasp* knew what they were doing) is that this is a young (probably rich) boy with more pretense than musical sense. It is a crime that a Moog is tied up in this way. If there was any justice in the world (don't worry - there isn't), the Moog would be taken from him and donated to an underfunded class of 5 year olds, who would immediately set about creating something of far greater musical value.
